The Y5 and Y6 children decided to spend some of their money from enterprise events on a selection of wildflower plugs in order to turn one of our school rewilded areas into a wildflower meadow. The plants were chosen for us by the Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust after they carried out a biodiversity survey of the school grounds. Our meadow now includes cowslips, oxeye daisies, red campion and kidney vetch.
Every child in Golden Eagles and Snowy Owls had a chance to plant some of the wildflowers and they are now being carefully tended by Team Green.
