Our Amazing Student Leaders

Every one of our Year 5 and Year 6 children has a student leader role in school. This term, they have achieved so much. We wanted to tell you all about it!

Anti-Bullying Champions

Our Anti-Bullying Champions organised a fantastic Anti-Bullying Week in November. They launched the week with an assembly to celebrate Odd Socks Day. Additionally, they encouraged all of the teachers in school to provide a special anti-bullying lesson. Finally, they set up a competition to encourage every child in school to design an anti-bullying superhero, announcing the winners in assembly at the end of the week.

Charity Ambassadors

It has been a busy term for the Charity Ambassadors! They organised a huge amount of fund raising for Children in Need, starting by ordering and selling merchandise before half term. On the day itself, they set up and ran a bake sale and invited everyone to wear their pyjamas to school!

House Captains

Our House Captains are fantastic role models for the younger children in school. Every week, they have the job of collecting and calculating team points before announcing these in assembly. They played a key role in our Sycamore Gap planting ceremony – you may have seen some of them on TV! The House Captains also arrange fun whole school events – watch this space!

ICT Cadets

Our ICT cadets have been brilliant! They are in charge of making sure that everyone in school understands how to use technology safely and responsibly. Just before half term, they designed a fantastic digital detox activity for everyone to try at home.

Reading Champions

The Reading Champions have been working incredibly hard to make sure that our new school library is available to everyone. They have been busy labelling and classifying our new books, and setting up a rota so that there are Reading Champions and teachers available in the library every play time.

Arts Champions

Our brilliant Arts Champions have been so pro-active this term. They decided to put on a competition which was open to every child in school; pupils were invited to create a piece of artwork inspired by the theme  ‘Earth, Water, Air and Fire’. Many beautiful, imaginative entries were submitted, and the Arts Champions had such a difficult task in choosing a winner from each class.

Team Green

As you probably know, it has been an incredibly important term for Team Green as they organised and ran the events linked to our Sycamore Gap planting ceremony. What a fantastic day!

T T Rockstars Champions

Our T T Rockstars Champions have the job of making sure that the children in school become experts in their times tables knowledge. They monitored our fantastic achievements during Rockstars week and awarded prizes and certificates at the end. In addition, they make sure that our T T Rockstars display is up to date and that our Rock Heroes and Rock Legends are recognized!

Sports Leaders

As always, our incredibly enthusiastic Sports Leaders have had a great term! As well as providing sporting activities every playtimes, they were also responsible for our Santa Dash, as well as our ’12 Days of Fitness’!
