In Golden Eagles, we have been busy finding out all about the General Election, analysing policies and Party Political Broadcasts… but of course, that wasn’t enough for us!
The Year 5 children formed their own political parties, based on the national and global issues which are important to them. After a nail biting ‘General Election’ of our own, in which our Party Political Broadcasts were shown to the Year 5 and Year 6 classes, the results are out:
The Green Leaf Party took 21% of the vote.
The People’s Protection Party and the Hand in Hand Party each took 17% of the vote.
The STAR (Science, Technology Advanced Research) Party, the MAP (Military and Police) Party and the Sporting Heroes Party all took 15%.
No overall majority then – it looks as though we’ll be heading for a coalition …
Have a look at our Party Political Broadcasts below. Who knows, you may be watching our future Prime Minister!
