Food Glorious Food!

It seems that we have done nothing but eat lately in Robins.  When we visited Whirlow Hall Farm, we bought some fresh eggs that we had collected ourselves.  On returning to school, we decided to put them to good use and we made ourselves some brunch!  Toast and bacon go well with eggs, so that’s what we had; scrambled eggs, bacon and freshly buttered toast, all made by Robins themselves.

We then ventured to Tesco, to learn about where different fruits and vegetables come from.  Whilst we were there, we were kindly given generous helpings of a variety of fruits to taste.  The other shoppers looked quite jealous.

Finally, as part of our science curriculum, we have been learning about the parts of a plant that we can eat.  First of all, we identified the different parts of a plant, including the celery stalk, lettuce leaves and carrots as being the root and then we ate them!!

We are now looking forward to serving our parents with some homemade fruit crumbles and scones at our Harvest Festival next week!
