Chaffinches – Summer term: 15th June

Hi Chaffinches,

I hope you are well.  It was lovely to speak to so many of you over the last couple of weeks; if I haven’t spoken to you yet, then I will be calling you this week. 🙂

Please carry on using the Active Learn for reading, grammar and spelling.  Use the Oak Academy for a variety of lessons, with some fun things to make to help your learning.  White Rose Maths, The Maths Factor and BBC Bitesize can also be used for help and ideas with maths.

You could also visit

for maths sheets and other learning.

If you didn’t get chance to ‘visit’ one of the museums I suggested last week, then I suggest you visit the British Museum website and go on a virtual tour, paying special attention to the Ancient Egypt gallery.

You could do a project on Ancient Egypt.  Research Ancient Egypt and find out what life was like back then; what jobs they had, what games they played, what they believed in, what  hieroglyphics were, how they were able to build the pyramids, etc.  You could write about what you find and draw some artifacts or make models.  It really is a fascinating topic.

Visit these other sites for more ideas and some help:

I look forward to seeing your projects.

Please keep me posted with the progress of your sunflower and please send in any videos of you reading to me.

Thank you to those who’ve already sent in videos of children reading: they have made my day with their fluent, expressive reading 🙂

Keep safe and see you soon,

love from Mrs Adams 🙂

Some work sent in on Ancient Egypt and a story written (which was read out to me so beautifully) Thank you 🙂
