This week Merlins have been learning all about poetry. We began by reciting and performing poems taken from Paul Hess’s ‘Rainforest Animals’. Then we studied the narrative poem by Brian Moses – ‘Walking with my Iguana’. This has now become a favourite listening pastime before the last few minutes of school. Finally the children planned and created their own haiku poem about a rainforest animal.
